All the countries the PCO mentioned as supporting the Philippines have trade disputes with China. Perhaps they didn't still get a clue what the Philippines is for these countries: A pawn in their economic struggle with China.
The EU for example needs critical raw minerals. Most of them are in China. Deng Xiaoping once said this in 1987: "The Middle East has oil, China has rare earths." And what did the West do in order to get the oil in the Middle East? If you know the answer to that question, you'll have a good idea of what's going on in our region, as once again just like in the era of colonization, the West employs the same tactics to get what they want -- divide and conquer, military might, ideological propaganda (before it was Christianity versus the savages, now it is liberal democracy versus non-liberal democracy).
