Emotional maturity doesn’t always come with age. It takes work, effort, and willingness to understand yourself and your feelings. When you’re facing a challenge, your level of emotional maturity will determine your ability to cope. It is all about having specific control over your emotions and knowing how to manage yourself accordingly.

Are you emotionally mature? Here are the 7 signs:

1. You are responsible.
When something bad happens, it is easier to get defensive, blame others, or become overwhelmed with shame. If you are an emotionally mature person, you acknowledge when you are wrong and take full responsibility for your actions. You figure out what you can do differently next time and develop a plan to do things better.
