"The First Slam Dunk Blu-ray and DVD release date in Japan: February 28, 2024"

The First Slam Dunk staff just hosted a livestream and announced the BD/DVD release details. Preorders start on October 27th. It will come in DVD, Blu-ray, and 4KUHD format disc options. The main movie disc will have secondary audio options (likely commentary from staff, Inoue, or the basketball players who did live match commentary), and the 4KUHD and BD discs will be in Dolby Atmos format with switchable audio.

There will be an standard edition (movie only), limited edition, and special limited edition version.

Standard edition prices: DVD: ¥4400 Blu-ray: ¥5500 4KUHD: ¥6600

Limited Edition contents: prince TBD

• movie + 2 bonus discs
• mini charm versions of the banners used for display at Japanese cinemas
• mini versions of the bonus freebies given out with the tickets in Japan (there were a lot of bonuses using Inoue’s art, including the Sawakita illustration ticket)

Special Limited Edition contents: price TBD

• everything in the LE
• “something big that you can put up for display”
