a. Revolving nosepiece:
The revolving nosepiece is the part of the microscope that holds and rotates the objective lenses. It allows the user to easily switch between different magnification powers. By rotating the nosepiece, the user can select the desired objective lens and bring it into position for viewing.

b. Coarse adjustment knob:
The coarse adjustment knob is used to bring the specimen into rough focus. It moves the stage up and down to adjust the distance between the objective lens and the specimen. This knob is used initially to get a general focus before using the fine adjustment knob for finer focusing.

c. Condenser:
The condenser is a lens system located beneath the stage of the microscope. Its purpose is to focus and concentrate the light onto the specimen. By adjusting the position of the condenser, the quality and intensity of the illumination can be controlled, resulting in a clearer and more detailed image.

d. Stage:
The stage is the platform on which the specimen is placed for observation. It typically includes a mechanical stage that allows for precise movement and positioning of the specimen. The stage also often has clips or a slide holder to secure the specimen in place. By moving the stage, the user can shift the position of the specimen to view different areas under the objective lens.

e. Mirror:
The mirror is located at the base of the microscope and is used to direct light up through the specimen. It reflects ambient light from the surroundings onto the specimen, which is essential for illuminating the sample. The user can adjust the mirror to control the amount and direction of the light, ensuring optimal illumination for viewing the specimen. However, it is important to note that some modern microscopes may use an electric light source instead of a mirror.
