Kakainstall lang kanina ng pldt samin, at wait lang daw ng 24hrs parw ma activate. Napansin ko lang sa likod ng modem isa lang ang SSID nya. Dito kasi sa work namin dalawa ang name ng wifi merong 2.4ghz at 5ghz ng wifi. Magiging ganun din ba samin once na maactivate na?

If you have access to the webui of the modem you'll see it there if it has 5GHz wireless access point settings. If not, then you'll see it on your phone if it is connected at 5GHz to the modem, assuming your phone has 5GHz wi-fi radio.

If you have a laptop or desktop try conducting speedtest over LAN first. If you get the same results as in wi-fi then that's accurate, and maybe you need to wait for the speedboost to kick-in, or give them a call regarding this.

Where is your question? If you're asking about what the tech told you then I can't really comment on why that is, given that the modem is an ISP-provided equipment.

It would be better to just request to them to switch the modem to bridge mode and then use your own wireless router that you have full access to. Or find someone who could set it up for you if you're not comfortable doing it yourself.

At least with this setup you don't have to jump hoops just to make a simple change like your wi-fi password. Honestly the situation is just getting more ridiculous with them and their force-fed equipment. Next thing you'll know they will take over on what you can or can't browse, like what is happening now between PHC and Converge.
