A 73-year-old man who availed himself of free *********ion offered by the Lapu-Lapu City Government received a P20,000 reward from Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan.
Tatay Mado (real name withheld), of Barangay Calawisan, registered for *********ion Friday, July 28, 2023.
"Nagpatuli ko ma’am kay daghan kay sig sungog nako pisot. Mauwaw ko,” he said.
He said he did not undergo *********ion when he was young due to fear.
"Sa una bata pa ko...katong pirmero, nihilak man unya kami nidagan mi. Nidagan mi kay hadlok mi ba," he said.
Mado has 7 children, 62 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Chan said he is supposed to give P10,000 bonus to 20 years old and above who will join the free *********ion program, but he doubled the money since Mado is already a senior citizen.
Mado said he will use the money to pay his debts.
Aside from Mado, a 20-year-old person with disability also got *********ed Friday and received P10,000 from Chan.
