Subject to the discretion of the Board pa rin yan.

Hindi lang paggawa ng circuit ang ECE, we also do basic programming aside from the hardware/electronics part.
The difference from CpE is that they use several programming languages, whereas sa ECE, more on basic programming and logic lang kasi focused kami sa hardware.

ECT is different from ECE. You can take ECT as long as you have accomplished all required subjects including ECE Laws and Ethics, pero nasa discretion pa rin yan ng Board of ECE. You can take ECT even if mag-4th yr ECE student ka palang, or even if yung course mo is technician, vocational, training or any courses related sa ECT in which you have taken for at least 2 years.

You may check Article 3 Section 14 of RA 9292 to be clarified.

Yun lang.

Yung Bscpe or computer engineering parang IT Lang Yan or comsci Yung mga subject nya more on computer katulad na Lang ng programming and may math din katulad ng algebra, trigo, analytic, solid mensuration based din sa math ng Civil engineering Ewan ko na Lang sa ECE. Yung nga Lang parang pinaganda Lang Ang name Bachelor in science computer engineering, at Isa pa dyan Tama ka walang boardexan sa Bscpe unlike sa ECE. Btw BSCE pala ako bachelor in science civil engineering.
We also have mathematics subjects, starting from Basic Algebra up to Numerical Methods.
We also have Strength of Materials and Thermodynamics since covered din siya sa board exam.

CpE is different from ComSci and IT since CpE also does hardware, not as much as ECE though.

Secondly, about having the title "Engr". Ang ECE po kasi may board exam at kapag nakapasa, magiging licensed engineer na po ako di ba? Wala po kasing board exam ang CpE kaya nagaalangan po ako kung marerecognize ako as an engineer once makagraduate with that course...

Kung natake mo na ang Calculus and other general subjects, they should be credited after your shifting. Major subjects... walang macecredit. Mababawasan lang ang schedule mo sa school.

Yes po may math talaga Yung computer engineering since im a 2nd year civil engineering student in this upcoming year sorry for saying that it's seem like that Bscpe is just like a comsci course or IT courses peace po im just clarryfying him about that two courses that he want to choose again po di ko po sinisiraan Yung mga Bscpe let me appologize for what Ived said. peace po have a nice day madam :)

Thanks po sa sagot 😊

It's okay. That's why plano ko po magtake ng CpE this year, then shift sa ECE next year.

Life after school: Siguro malaking bagay din na iconsider yun magiging buhay mo pagka tapos mo mag aral. I'm not sure about sa CpE pero sa ECE kasi pag katapos mo maipasa yung Licensure Exam kailangan mo pang magipon ng points para makapag renew ng license. Tawag namin dito CPD- Continuing Professional Development.

Sabi nila magkaibaa angTitle (Ex. As long as you uphold the values and ideas of an engineer, Engineer ka na rin para samin may license man o wala.

Wow, thanks so much po for the info. It's really helpful!

Thank you po. That's a very good pood point po.

Natuwa naman ako sa thread na'to. EcE student here. Go for it.

ECE - more on hardware
CpE - more in programming

Yes, when you pass your board exam, you can Engr. na in your name, or ECE instead sa dulo. Sa CpE, I’m afraid they’re not really called engineers sa work (not sure on others, though), pero recognized ka na engineer.

BSCpE - pinaghalong CS at IT.

CpE student here ...last batch ng old curriculum...plano ko mag double major Cpe and ECE...(1year extension lng siguro so bale 6years double major na)...kaso dna sila tumatanggap ng old curriculum.....dmo rin maprepredict mangyayari pa grumaduate ka ...dmi ko kakilala Unlicensed Engr. mas maganda pa buhay sa top notchers...

Pwede po pala yun? Bale po tatapusin ko yung 4yrs CpE now then 1yr ECE, that's considered as double major po?

That's when mababawasan yung credits mo when you take up ECE, kaya more or less 2 years nalang itatake mo for the major subjects.

Not sure, pero normally ganyan yon.

As long na kaya mo yung program pwede mo itake. Kahit kailan mo kunin yung board exam as long na BSECE graduate ka walang problema. Anyway, good to see na you're still interested na mag ECE. Keep it up, gawin mong motivation and good luck sa Engineering.

- passing a board exam and you will get an engineer title. pero it does not mean you will have an engineer position right away like you will be called as "Engineer Pedro" at work. passing a board exam is just a requirement in some companies. that's the practical reason at all.
- again hindi pinaganda yun "Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering" compare sa ibang IT courses. some companies requires this specific degree.
- i recommend you to picture where you want to work in the future. if you want to be an "Engineer" then go for Civil/Electrical/Geodetic/Mechanical and not CPE or ECE.
- if you dream to work at telecommunication company go for ECE over CPE.
- if you dream to work like for Cisco, Microsoft then go for CPE over ECE.
