"(6) When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. (7) Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naƙed; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves."
These verses describes the phenomenon exclusive to the human experience, which we call shame.
The same phenomenon we experience in reality. As humans, we tend to judge others, and we know they can judge us.
When we [know that we] did something wrong, it is just almost impossible shake the unsettling feeling that everyone we hold dear in our life is thinking about that very mistake. Everytime they talk to each other, the feeling that they are talking about us. We obsess how they view us. It makes us want to hide ourself [in the bush perhaps?] Or maybe, just disappear completely.
The disire to disconnect.
The nakèdness.
Maybe, in a way, animals are better than us. They can get away with anything free from shame. They eat, they sleep, they kill, have séx, they s†éál, they live their lives a moment at a time. Meanwhile, we have to learn how to do that.. to live our lives a moment at a time.
But well, that is just how we are. That is just how humans already are. Evolution just doesn't work its way backward. Moments of time just don't last forever.
The judgeful eyes will one day only see their own shame, and the only judgeful eyes that remains are our own. All we can do is move forward in time..with the hope that the world will forget our sin.
Thanks for reading.
