“I believe an incredible opportunity now exists to re-establish Glory as one of the giants of Australian football and that vision is one shared by everyone at the club," Stajcic said in a statement.

Perth Glory CEO Anthony Radich is delighted to have Stajcic in the team, describing him as "a winner and loves a challenge." Stajcic will join the team next week.

Stajcic accepted the Perth Glory job after guiding the Filipinas to a historic feat of reaching the 2023 Fifa Women's World Cup via a semifinal appearance in last year's AFC Women's Asian Cup.

Under his guidance, Stajcic led the Filipinas to a landmark win when they defeated New Zealand, 1-0, in only their second match in the World Cup with a chance of moving into the next round.

The Filipinas were eventually eliminated, losing to Norway, 6-0, in what was Stajcic's last match as the Philippine team coach.
