Just be normal. You don't need to use too much effort to speak english. Some people like british accent more than the american accent, and because of it, they speak it unnaturally. Sorry for grammar. I'm not really the product of the educational system our country has. I learned english by myself. Without learning the grammar just vocabulary. And now, I'm learning it bit by bit. Hahahajaynner , it's more fun to have an open convo. This way, may phc members will be encouraged to open up and join us. What do you mean by group chat? Is it an fb group chat? That will be so closed and private.

radical7 , yeah, singing english songs help us learn to pronounce english as if we're natives of those english speaking countries. It does help a lot! I just love how the sounds of english swirls outside my mouth.
What accent do you have and why are you doubting others that they understand you?

Just keep the faith. Speaking english with a person and not in this virtual world will improve your skill very much. I was lucky enough to have a very strict teacher when I was in grade 5. We ρáíd 25 centavos for every single bikol or tagalog word. Wahahaha I was the one who ρáíd the most. Much to my dismay. You can do it! Just believe in yourself. English is not foreign with us--filipinos. In fact, having english as one of our teaching medium in schools is one of the great advantage for us to learn it easily. Just immerse yourself with it and everything will be as smooth as you have expected. You don't need to force yourself to speak it fluently in an instant. All of us have the capacity to learn. It just differs on how we do it. Goodluck on your journey, friend!
radical7 , well, I guess if you truly want to speak english naturally, surround or immerse yourself with it. Watch english môviês, sing english songs, write in english, speak in english with your friends and keep the faith. If you truly have that eagerness and strong desire to have a great accent in english, you'll see one day that your hardships is worth it.

GIYF(Google is your friend) . Wahaha Google is just a click away. Do some effort for you to build up your vocabulary. Don't you have any offline dictionaries in your phone? You can use it. Try using synonyms, too. Say for instance, you want to say the word "beautiful" but you like some elegance, and you search the synonyms of beautiful then use "gorgeous" instead. It's one way of enriching your vocabulary. Trust me, I do it a lot. And your retention with that word will be easier. Because you used almost all of your senses to know that word. I read an article, too, that engaging a new word with what you already knew is easier to remember especially if you made an effort to know it. You know, learning english language is not really troublesome. You can't just dive into it fully because it will be useless. You'll just be bored and give up in the end. Learn it, bit by bit.
