Trivia Why does atheism feel so satanic to me?

There are three common reasons:

• You are brought up in Christianity or Islam, and has been taught that Satan is tempting people to leave Christianity/Islam. So when people don’t believe in gods (of which the Capital G is just one/three, depending on how you look at it), it must be because Satan was successful. The corollary is the oft repeated false accusation that atheists just want to sin.
  
  
• You have stumbled on the Satanic Temple (TST), who actually don’t believe in gods or Satan, but they use satanic imagery in order to highlight their opposition to mainly Christianity, which de facto is the dominant religion in the US. Basically, they’re trolling Christians because way too many Christians are trying to turn the US into a theocracy.
  
  
• You are a troll, and want to rile up atheists. You know very well that atheists do not believe in Satan – only Christians and Muslims do – but since atheists have been accused of being satanists like since forever, it is easy to make atheists angry and you think it’s fun to make people angry despite Matthew 7:12.
