I am an avid reader and ever since I learned how to browse the net, doon na rin nagsimula ang foray ko into books in digital format. Mapa-pdf man, djvu, epub o mobi, download dito, download dyan. Mapa-legal man o hindi (XD)
Ito yung mga pinagdadadownloadan ko ng mga books. Mga file-hosting sites ito. Hindi kasi ako fan ng torrents. Nalaman ko lang din itong mga sites na ito from Google. The best way to look for books from these websites is to use Google search. Use the syntax site: search term.
1. Project Gutenberg (www.gutenberg.org) - Itong website na ito is completely legal. Mga classical works ang kadalasan na nadito. Yung tipong hindi na copyrighted. For e.g. Charles Dickens, Jane Austen. You can download the digitized books in different formats. Very useful sa mga nagte-take ng Literature classes at pinagagawa ng book reports. NOT PROXY COMPATIBLE
2. E Pub Bud (You do not have permission to view the full content of this post. Log in or register now..epubbud.com/) - Marami kang makikita ditong epubs ng mga recent popular novels like Hunger Games, Divergent etc that you can download for free. Malamang pir*cy ito. Haha!
3. Mobilism (forum.mobilism.org) - Marami kang mapupulot na download dito for mobile devices including e-books!!! Yun nga lang, yung mga files ay hosted by file-hosting services (gaya ng RapidShare), so minsan di na updated yung link. Use Google search para mapadali ang searching kahit wala kang account. XD
4. LibGen (libgen.info) - Itong website na ito, focused on scientific and academic books (math, engineering, physics at madami pang iba). This one is a favorite of mine. Yun nga lang, based sa Russia ang site na ito so ang bagal ng download. Pero FREE naman so tyaga na lang. Itong site na ito ang nagpapatunay na hindi hadlang ang kahirapan para makapagbasa! Hahaha.
5. Scribd (www.scribd.com) - Read unlimited books! This used to be totally free (yata?) but now may bayad na. Still, you can download books (ang friend mo dito is yung Google search) pero may kapalit. You must upload one document in exchange for one download. Tyaga ka na lang sa pagupload ng kung anu-ano basta document. Di naman nila vine-verify eh. But from time to time, contribute ka rin to the universe.
So far ito lang ang mga common na takbuhan ko kapag naghahanap ng books. Kapag matiyaga ka maghanap, makikita mo rin ang kailangan. If all else fails, go visit the library XD. May mga books talaga na wala pang digital format, especially yung mga lumang technical books. Unless magrequest ka sa mga forums na may mag-scan nun para sa iyo.
