Help Toasted GPU and TV motherboard

Hello, mag aask lang, disclaimer matagal na nangyari 'to.
Bale nasira yung PC GPU at TV motherboard nung ikinonnect ko sila both using HDMI. 2GPU nasira and brand ng TV ay samsung.

So ang setup namin sa bahay is medyo malayo yung TV at PC, so need gumamit ng long cable para i-connect, then magkaiba yung power outlet nila.

First, I plugged the HDMI connector sa PC, no problem. And then eto na nga pagkalapat na pagkalapat pa lang nung HDMI connector dun sa TV, may narinig na akong pumutok at may nakitang nag-spark dun sa loob ng PC, ayun toasted ang GPU. Nabubuhay PC pero no display tapos yung TV ayaw na agad mabuhay. Buti may warranty, napagawa yung TV, yung GPU nonwarranty so GG.

2nd time triny ko ulet, kasi akala ko ang naging problema nung first time is hindi ko both napatay yung power strip at PSU bago ikabit. So triny ko patayin muna lahat bago ikabit yung HDMI, and to my surprise GANUN PA DIN! Pagka-on ko nung power strip ng PC may pumutok agad, same result, both PC GPU and TV motherboard bumigay. Tama naman pagkaka-kabit ko and same result pa din.

Now gusto ko talagang magamit PC ko to connect on our TV kasi sobrang limited features ng TV compared sa PC. Any ideas po para maayos ito? Yung bahay namen is not properly grounded pala, factor po ba yun? Any electricians po na makakatulong and ma-eexplain bakit nangyare ganito?

Maraming salamat po!

Hello,

I'm sorry to hear about the issues you've been experiencing with your PC's GPU and your TV motherboard. It sounds like a frustrating situation. Based on the information you provided, there are a few possible factors that could have contributed to the damage.

1. Power Surge: When you connected the HDMI cable to the TV, you mentioned hearing a pop and seeing a spark inside the PC. This suggests that there may have been a power surge that damaged both the GPU and TV motherboard. Power surges can occur when there is a sudden increase in electrical voltage, and they can be caused by various factors such as lightning strikes or fluctuations in power supply. Using surge protectors or uninterruptible power supply (UPS) units can help protect your devices from power surges.

2. Electrical Grounding: You mentioned that your house is not properly grounded. This could potentially be a factor in the issue you are facing. Proper grounding helps to ensure that any excess electricity is safely directed into the ground, reducing the risk of damage to your devices. It is recommended to have a qualified electrician assess your home's electrical system and make any necessary improvements to ensure proper grounding.

3. Cable Quality: You mentioned that you purchased a more expensive HDMI cable the second time. While cable quality can make a difference in terms of signal transmission, it is unlikely to be the root cause of the damage you experienced. However, using higher-quality cables can help ensure a stable connection and minimize potential signal interference.

In any case, I would recommend seeking the assistance of a qualified electrician to evaluate your home's electrical system and address any grounding issues. They can also advise on proper surge protection measures to safeguard your devices. Additionally, it might be worth contacting the manufacturer or a professional technician to diagnose and repair the damage to your GPU.

I hope this information helps, and I wish you the best of luck in resolving the issue with your PC and TV.

usually if maganda naman provider ng kuryente mo like meralco
wala ka magiging problema dito pero if lets say province ka ng yung mga provincial provider yung kuryente mo then dito tataas factor nya

as for solution well meron ako isang tanong muna

best solution is either bili ka ng good AvR or UPS

Eto sir same issue nung sakin, Samsung TV din and medyo mahaba HDMI na ginamit:

Try mo muna i isolate ang problem lods, like ang cpu mo try mo iconnect sa ibang tv. meron naman jan mura na monitor or ang tv mo try mo ikabit sa ibang hdmi like andriod tv box /tv plus. ang TV is usually HDMI IN yan tapos CPU is HDMI OUT. Possible din kasi na me HDMI IN ang CPU or TV HDMI OUT pero madalang kaya dapat sa correct port mo ikabit. hindi naman big factor yung TV sa CPU PSU kasi may sarili naman yan na power.
