Hello! Here is a step-by-step guide on how to apply for a Philippine passport:

Step 1: Prepare the necessary documents and requirements.

  • Duly accomplished passport application form
  • Original and photocopy of PSA (formerly NSO) birth certificate
  • Valid government-issued ID with one photocopy (e.g. SSS ID, driver's license, PRC ID, etc.)
  • For married women, original and photocopy of PSA marriage certificate
  • For minors: original and photocopy of PSA birth certificate and original and photocopy of proof of identity of either parent
  • For dual citizenship: original and photocopy of identification certificate issued by the Philippine embassy or consulate, and Oath of Allegiance

Step 2: Set an appointment online.

Visit the Department of Foreign Affairs' (DFA) passport appointment website at You do not have permission to view the full content of this post. Log in or register now. and select the site where you want to apply for your passport, the date and time of your appointment, and the type of passport you need.

Step 3: Pay the processing fee.

The passport processing fee is Php 950.00 for regular processing (15 working days) and Php 1,200.00 for express processing (7 working days). Payment can be made through several channels such as over-the-counter at select banks, Bayad Center, and DFA cashier.

Step 4: Go to your chosen DFA office on your appointment date and time.

Bring all the necessary documents and requirements and arrive at the DFA office at least 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment. Be sure to dress appropriately and avoid wearing jewelry or accessories that may cause issues during the passport photo capture.

Step 5: Submit your documents and have your photo and biometrics taken.

Once you arrive at the DFA office, present your printed passport application form and other documents to the passport processing staff for verification. Afterward, your photo and biometrics (fingerprints and signature) will be captured.

Step 6: Wait for your passport to be released.

You will be given a claim stub with the date when you can get your passport. The usual processing time for regular processing is 15 working days, while express processing takes 7 working days.

I hope this guide helps! Good luck with your passport application!
