How can I speed up browsing using SafeIP?
Selecting a location nearest to you is the best way to ensure the fastest connection speeds.
From the Dashboard tab, scroll down the Select Location box on the left, to find the country and
region nearest to your current location, and then double-click the location to connect. You may try
using other nearby locations to see if another location is faster for you. You may also try selecting
an IP location nearest to most of the websites or servers you regularly use.

We also recommend turning on the free Ad blocking and Malware blocking features on the Setting
tab. These features can speed up your web browsing by blocking advertisements that slow your
web browsing. Malware, scamware, phishing, and spam sites can be blocked as well using the
Malware blocking feature, potentially further speeding up your web browsing.

How can verify my IP is changed or hidden?
When you connect to an IP location using the Connect button, SafeIP will use an IP from the
currently selected location, or a random location if no location was selected. The selected IP
will be applied to all currently open Internet programs. However, some programs may cache or
save your old original IP address in memory, and not use or display your newly selected proxy IP
address. To avoid these caching issues, we recommend making sure you Connect to an IP
location in SafeIP first, then open or run your Internet programs.

To verify that your IP is properly hidden from websites or remote IPs, you can right-click the
SafeIP tray icon menu and select Verify My IP. This will open a browser window to

Which web browsers is SafeIP compatible with?
SafeIP is compatible with all web browsers for Windows, including Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox,
Google Chrome, Safari, Opera, Netscape Navigator, SeaMonkey, K-Meleon, Konqueror, Maxthon,
Flock, Lunascape, Iron Browser, Avant Browser, Sleipnir, Epic, and Orca.

How do I properly remove and uninstall SafeIP?
To safely uninstall SafeIP on Windows 8, you can simply right-click the SafeIP icon on the Start
Screen and select Uninstall at the bottom bar.

You may remove SafeIP on other Windows versions by navigating to Control Panel, Programs,
Programs and Features, "Uninstall a program", scroll down to "SafeIP" and click "Uninstall".
An alternate method is to navigate to Start, All Programs, SafeIP, then select "Uninstall SafeIP".

In some cases, you may need to reboot your PC for the SafeIP uninstaller to safely remove all
installed files.

What is WiFi Protection and how does it work?
When you connect to an Internet, your computer sends out a unique digital fingerprint.

This digital fingerprint can be easily traced back to your computer or Internet device,
allowing your Internet traffic to be monitored and even pinpoint your location.

When you turn on the WiFi Protection feature, this digital fingerprint, also known as a
MAC address, will be hidden and changes frequently at random intervals, preventing
your Internet activity from being tracked to your computer.

WiFi Protection is useful for use on secure or unsecure wireless networks such as at airports,
hotels, and Internet cafes. Will also protect your MAC address while plugged into a wired LAN
connection with an Ethernet cable.

What is Referring URL Protection and how does it work?
Every time to click a link to a new web page, your browser tells the new website the last site
you visited. Exposing your Referring URL can be a security risk or a way for websites to track
your online activity.

To prevent your web browser from exposing your Referring URL, also known as a "Referer
Header", enable the Referring URL Protection feature on the Settings window. This feature
is compatible with all web browsers.

What is Browser ID Protection and how does it work?
Your web browser tells a lot more about you than you realize. "Browser Fingerprinting"
technology is a new way for Internet companies to track your online activity without
using cøøkíés or your IP address.

Each time you visit a website, your browser sends something called a "User Agent"
to the website, which reveals your operating system and version, browser and version,
and other plugins, installed fonts, extensions, installed software, and settings of your computer. This data can be compiled to form a unique Browser Fingerprint, linked to you and your computer.
Clearing your cøøkíés and hiding your IP address is no longer enough to stop sites from tracking
your Browser Fingerprint.

Fortunately, our Browser ID Protection feature, found under the Settings tab, uses counter-Browser Fingerprinting algorithms to randomly change your Browser Fingerprint and prevent this
form of tracking. Compatible with all web browsers.

What is the Optimizations tab all about?
The Optimizations tab gives you the chance to tell the SafeIP software how to best configure your Internet proxy settings depending on how you intend to use SafeIP. The current optimizations are:

Anonymous Web Surfing - The most common and default recommended setting. Select this setting if you mostly go online for normal web surfing, with little Internet application usage.

Fast Content Streaming - Recommended if you run SafeIP while going to streaming content sites such as YøùTùbé, TV, movie, news, or Internet radio.

Mass or Bulk Mailing - Recommended if you plan to send mailing lists, newsletters, or other bulk mail. This optimization is useful if your ISP blocks bulk mail or ports associated with sending mail.

Download and Torrent - If you plan to use SafeIP to protect your IP while downloading torrents or other related intensive downloads, this optimization is needed and available with a SafeIP Pro License.

For each optimization described above, SafeIP will use the best proxy IP location and settings for your currently selected optimization.

How do I change the language for SafeIP?
SafeIP is available in multiple languages. You can change the application language on the Language tab. You may need to restart SafeIP to change the language from a non-English language to another language.

If your language visible on the Language tab, but not enabled, you may need to update your system languages by visiting the Microsoft Language Pack Downloads.

What is DNS Privacy and how does it help me?
Every time your PC makes a connection to a website, may it be in a web browser or other application, it must first lookup the IP of the website it is attempting to connect to. For example, if you want to connect to "google.com", your PC must rely on something called a DNS server, which works much like a digital phonebook, translating the hostname "google.com" to an IP address.

Most Internet users use the default DNS provided by their ISP. Thus, it is possible for your ISP to monitor every website you visit and even block or filter access to certain websites.

To protect your connection from DNS monitoring or ISP filtering, we recommend turning on the DNS Privacy feature in the Settings tab. Your DNS lookups will then be routed around your default DNS provider, allowing for better privacy and protection online.

How can I use SafeIP to unblock websites?
Some websites block visitors by their IP address location. Sometimes your Internet Service Provider (ISP) may block access to a some websites. In both cases, you can use SafeIP to access the blocked sites.

To properly unblock a website, be sure to run SafeIP and connect to a country location that can access the blocked website. Then, verify your real IP address is properly hidden in your web browser by visiting You do not have permission to view the full content of this post. Log in or register now.. If this site still shows your real IP, try to close all your web browser windows and then verify your IP again.

If the website is still blocked, go to your web browser settings, clear your browser's cache, then try visiting the blocked site. The website should now be unblocked.

Do I need to run SafeIP as Administrator?
SafeIP does not require you to be logged in as an administrator acconnt to run the application. However, you will need to be an administrator if you want to install or uninstall SafeIP.
