I've read an FB post about an ex-employee (one of the laid-off employees) of Shopee PH that they anticipated what happened to them because the whole Shopee franchises throughout the world have been in crisis, and some of them have shut down already.

So...Gonzaga being the endorser of the PH franchise of Shopee is really not the main cause of the near "bankruptcy" of the company.

Laying off employees to cut costs may be a damage-control but not the long-term solution. Pag magtutuloy-tuloy na maging negative ang income ni Sea Ltd., it may be the time for Shopee (or one of the companies na hawak ni Sea Ltd.) to bid farewell to the industry.
