iOS 11.x/11.2.x/10.x: NEW FULL JAILBREAK CHAIN BY KEENLAB AT INFILTRATECON
In today's video, we're discussing the news about Keenlab demonstrating a new full #jailbreak chain at InfiltrateCon 2018. InfiltrateCon 2018 took place a few days ago from April 26 to April 27 and in the schedule, there was also a talk about iOS vulnerabilities that was presented by Liang Chen and Marco Grassi who are both parts of Keenlab team. The organizers of the conference posted a few photos from their talk and the fact that they have demonstrated the jailbreak but they did not give any information on the iOS version or the iDevices compatible. Keenlab has also demonstrated a jailbreak for #iOS 10 back in 2017 that remained private, unfortunately, so I doubt they will release this one. Judging by the slide that has been posted on Twitter by the organizer, they were discussing some plan they had to jailbreak by taking advantage of the WiFi chip and they included references to Google Project Zero's WiFi chip research from back in 2017 by Gal Beniamini. That made me believe it is a jailbreak for iOS 10.x up to iOS 10.3.3 but it would not make any sense because iOS 10.x isn't an important jailbreak target anymore. Last year they've demoed a jailbreak for the latest version available at that time and that makes me believe that's what they did this year too. All in all, this goes to show how vulnerable iOS really is, and that's one of the reasons I recommend you to not update to iOS 11.4 Beta. The iOS 11.2 all the way up to iOS 11.3 are vulnerable to a series of vulnerabilities that can easily be used for a jailbreak, which is something that I am only too happy to see, considering that some people believe the jailbreak is doomed now that Coolstar decided to retire from Electra development.
