ABS-CBN Franchise may possibly be restored in 2024

ABS-CBN President Carlo Katigbak expressed confidence in the network’s future, boldly stating that the upcoming year would be the best since 2020.

“I’m making a promise, next year will be the best year for ABS-CBN since 2020,” said Katigbak.
ABS-CBN COO Cory Vidanes echoed this positive sentiment, declaring, “Next year, we’re going to make a big turnaround.”

It's impossible na makabalik sila sa Free TV. Una, naibenta na nila lahat ng transmitters nila sa probinsya. Pangalawa, worth it ba kung pagbigyan sila ng franchise. Mag-uumpisa ulit silang magpagawa ng trasmitters.

ABS CBN was closed during martial law Sept. 1971-early 1986. Ang humawak sa frequency nila during martial law is Banahaw Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) owned by a Marcos crony. (Seems similar what happened last 2020, giving ABS's frequencies to D30 cronies.)

BBC was closed and ABS was revived in mid 1986 when Cory Aquino become president in the same year. Naging biggest network from late 1980s up until the franchise was revoked in 2020.

2020 up to present, they only exist as a production company and all ABS-produced programs has "ABS-CBN STUDIOS" name on their titles.
