Philippians 2:3 (KJV) Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

It is easy to get caught up in the pursuit of our own advancement in life and to fall into conflict with others in the process of "fighting out way to the top. " It is easy to then look at our list of accomplishments and look down at others as if they were inferior to us. But God here calls us to instead be lowly of mind and to consider others to be better than ourselves.

Give us, we pray, the meek mind of Christ, who though he was Lord over all yet submitted to his Father's will and was made a lowly servant. If even your Son was a servant, how much more should we consent to serve God and others. Amen.
