First thing to know before rooting:
1rooting you android phone will void your warranty
2rooting and adding custom recoveries can lower your device security
3the most important. I am not liable for any cause of damage during your proccess. (Wink)

Sharing the method how I root my phone:
NOTE: samsung mobile only

1. First download Odin on your pc or laptop latest version or v3.9 still the same
2. Download TWRP or CWM recovery that to be install on your phone via odin
3. Download SUPERSU and put it on your sd card
4. Turn your phone into downloading mode (volume down + home button + power button)
5. Connect USB cable
6. Install/flash the custom recovery on your phone

After flashing successfully

1. Turn your phone into recovery mode (volume up + home button + power button)
2. Find the Supersu zip file
3. Install/flash it.

Congratulations you've rooted your phone.

Tip:
After having that Custom recovery installed on your phone. You can also install Custom ROM like cyanogenmod and resurrection remix. If you want your phone to stay samsung but you want to upgrade it. You can install J5 ROM. And its bug free. So dont worry.
