SUMMER MADNESS
As radiant as the shining sun,
Cooler than the ocean breeze,
Summer’s never been more animated,
Or so I thought.
Gently rising-up the horizon,
Shining brightly, dazzling as ever,
The sun has risen, giving hope,
Or so I thought.
Along with its rising came someone,
Outshining the sun from all corners of my eye,
Someone who will mend what has been broken,
Or so I thought.
Have I not given everything?
Been left alone for no reason,
Hoping that the summer would ease the pain,
Or so I thought.
Someone has come to my rescue,
Putting back together those broken pieces,
Mending the best part of me that has been broken,
Or so I thought.
A spark of love,
At last, I have found,
With this stranger, I have found solace,
Or so I thought.
Love has filled my heart again,
Happiness and laughter every day,
No one will ever take this away now,
Or so I thought.
Not a day gone by that we are not together,
Partners in crime is what we are,
Just like Bonnie and Clyde,
Or so I thought.
By far, this is the best summer,
Strange as it may seem,
It completes me,
Or so I thought.
Suddenly, the laughter began to fade,
A dark mist covered the radiant sun,
Taking away all the hope I have,
Now, this is real.
The stranger I met,
Became a stranger once again,
Living me with nothing but bittersweet memories,
Now, this is real.
It has gotten stranger by the day,
Living felt like hell,
Madness filled my heart,
Now, this is real.
Crying is now irrelevant,
The radiant summer, has turned bleak,
I too, have turned cold,
Now, this is real.
A summer full of mistakes,
A stranger with a false pretense,
And an I, who is left hanging by the noose,
A complete Summer Madness.
