Closed Tips to pass UPCAT & DOST?

Hello mga papsies! G11 palang ako pero gusto ko sana mag advance study para sa CETs at DOST exam next year kasi time flies fast. Gusto ko po kasi ma ace yung UPCAT kasi I want to enter Intarmed (sana palarin T~T) Ano po ba yung mga subjects na kasama sa exam? mga topics na usually na appear?

If i remembered correctly, sabi ng kaibigan ko na nagaaral ngayon sa UP-D ay 4 subjects ang included sa exam (katulad rin sa pinasukan kong university) which is Science, Math, Language Proficiency(both filipino and english) and Reading comprehension.
you will be given different allotted time per subject, as far as i remember math is the longest samin which is more than 1 hr.

about the topics, it differs by year kaya it's all about prediction na lang kung ano lalabas sa exam kaya better na magprepare ka na agad if you're planning to enter in UP.
try to go to review centers if you have the resources to enroll if you think you don't have that capability of reviewing by yourself.

I can't really provide specific topics na pwede lumabas sa exam since di ko sineryoso na papasok ako ngayon sa current uni ko at di ko na rin tanda yung mga questions na nakalagay dun nung nagexam ako.

tho' I can provide some tips in reading comprehension one thing is no need mo na basahin yung buong kwento sa exam since isang page daw yun kung babasahin mo lahat tapos iilan lang yung covered questions na itatanong sayo kaya better if you read a part of the 1st part of the story to have the idea on what's happening tapos diretso ka na sa conclusion then answer agad since kay kasunod pa yan na halos isang page na kwento ulit sa language proficiency naman, if you remember the type of questions na tinake mo sa NCAE (iirc meron pa kayo either in g11 or g12) ganun rin mga tanong dun like kung anong part nga ba ng sentence/phrase ang mali or baka wala ring mali

kaya good luck na lang sayo na makapasok ka sa UP ^^ di ko na rin kasi na-try mag-exam dyan since busy kami lahat sa school projects and activities kaya di ko nafeel kung gaano kahirap exam dun :/

Hi! Ang advice ko lang ay take risk kapag nagsasagot ng UPCAT. Wag na wag ka magiiwan na unshaded yung options. Manghula ka na lang. Although right minus 1/4 wrong, para sakin mas mataas mong makapasa if magtatake ka ng risk sa panghuhula. Better yet, aralin mo yung lessons n'yo noong g10. Tapos sa Language Proficiency, wag mo muna babasahin yung text/stories, basahin mk muna yung tanong and then scan mo na lang dun sa text/story yung sagot. More on logic and common sense ang UPCAT. Kahit stock knowledge ay okay na, basta alam mo yung basics nung lessons nyo ay ayos lang. Basta maikokonek mo sila sa isa't isa. Wag ka kakain masyado nang marami kasi baka antukin ka while taking the exam. 5 hrs kasi yun. Pero ano, mas maganda pa rin na magrereview ka talaga para sure win ka na. Nga pala, ang matinding nakalaban ko dyan sa upcat ay yung time pressure, kasi may allotted time lang per subject, bawal mo na balikan para sagutan yung tapos na. Kaya wise time management is the key!!

take note na magkaiba parin ang conyo sa taglish since conyo is the cringey type of taglish where right use of words and sentence construction is non-existent na ginagamit kadalasan ng mga feeling mataas ang social status dahil nakapagasawa lang ng kano

But it's better if you make sure you get a full rest. Make sure to eat well before the exam too!

I passed DOST sadly I didn't passed UPCAT hahaha. If I were you magfofocus ako sa pinakaweakness ko and mostly high school lessons (both junior and senior) ang cover and I can't provide specific topic since nagbabago nga sya per academic yr. They say DOST scholarship exam is way harder than UPCAT, and yeah agree ako don hahaha. Para di magmukang hypocritical since di 'ko napasa ang UPCAT, may part sa DOST na about mechanical-technical since need mo talaga ng great focus para masagutan like for instance ung gear na 'to gagalaw and may mga kasunod sya na gear, saang direction gagalaw ung pinakadulo ganyan. And eto tips para sa UPCAT since intarmed risk-taker ka din, better choose any campus + UP Los Baños since 2 ang magiging choice of campus mo, wanna know why? Mas mababa ang required UPG ng UPLB compared sa Manila kaya sure na makakapasok ka with your desired course. Although some says pwede kahit hind mo choice of campus ang LB pero its better to include it para may chance ka pa irecon/reappeal with your UPG

any tips sir sa grammar kaya ko correct sarili kong grammar pero pag english ng iba hirap isipin ano mali
