SoftPerfect RAM Disk is an application that helps you create a virtual drive and mount files on the temporary memory of the computer as opposed to the physical memory (hard disc). This means a) access to the contents of the virtual drive is faster, b) hard drive is not affected by wear and tear or fragmentation and c) create as many drives as there are letters available. This way you also reduce computer noise. Virtual drives are especially useful when playing large sized graphic games where the optical drive may slip every now and then. The program has a simple intuitive interface but some knowledge is required, like understanding file systems such as RAW, FAT and NTFS.
