Practical english lounge

Hi, its been a while. I am referring to group chat here in phc which commonly known as conversation. I want to learn fluently because you know nowadays it's a core requirement to be executive and I'm really hoping that I could be one someday:). Can you give me some tips?
Well, I guess all you need is your passion to learn english well. It does takes time for someone to be fluent with it. Yet, as I can see it, you are already fluent with it. So, the vocabulary is the only problem. Well, that was just a joke. Our vocabulary will be enriched if we keep on using a certain language. It's just easy. As the saying goes, "Use it or lose it." So, what we have here, this convo, will surely help you improve your vocabulary. But I also want you to read many english articles, stories, and other things that catches your eyes. You know, it really helps someone to build his vocabulary if he really likes what he reads. Wahahaha So, you must give it a try. Uhm, what do you mean by executive? Are you working in an office?
Wow! It's very nice to see a thread like this here on phc because I am currently taking BSED major in English. I can say that this is very helpful for me to improve my language competency. It is because, sometimes,it's very frustrating for me that I somehow has difficulty in vocabulary.
Yeah, me too. And you're way too advanced than us. Hahaha It will be awkward if I will be teaching you ways on how to improve your vocabulary. But let me face the shame. Lols XD Would you like to take an advice from someone like me? Someone who is fascinated by this english language. Someone who didn't learn english in a linear way but a curved and a jagged one. Wahahaha, Gosh, well, my advice is, just talk with us and do share some lessons from your school. Because when you share something, especially an idea, you'll remember it easily. Sharing is learning indeed!
Is it not boring to have english as your major? I'm just curious. Hahaha
Sad to say i don't have and offline dictionary app and my internet connection is very slow -.- to search and search the synonyms but i try to use my tagalog english dictionary book to know what the synonyms of any kind of word's it's consuming lot of time to find the meaning and the synonyms in my book haha nice tips again to you use other meaning of word's to make it good sounds haha my god my english very barok you know barok haha barok obama LoL have a good night sir God bless you too
There are many free english dictionaries in playstore. You can download them when your network connection speed up. But you can have an alternative solution, try the "Share it" application. It's fast and easy to share and receive apps. Are you using an android phone or not? If not, you can download mobipocket reader then download mobi dictionaries. They're great dictionaries for me when I have no android phone before. I got to have merriam-webster collegiate edition as well as oxford. They're great dictionaries. I use them a lot, even now in my android. Give it a try, and you won't regret it. Yes, english-filipino dictionary can help us learn a language, but it can slow down our learning pace. And it is only advisable for someone who has very little known english words and knowledge about it. Why? Because, as I had read an article and had proven it by myself, you'll improve your vocabulary if you use an english dictionary with an english explanation. It's just simple. You are being immersed in a world of english words. No need for translations. Your mind will be confused and bogged down if you keep translating words in your native language. See? It's very important to use an english-english dictionaries.
And yes, it really is time consuming to use a dictionary book. But with smartphones? No more.

An early morning again for everyone! :)

I am an English major and I'm proud to say that I still am lacking for some words to say when it's a prompt speaking. Lol. To enrich vocabs, there's a lot of applications we can play while we're learning. You should have a daily word trivias or the "word of the day". Say for example, today my "WOTD" is the word Rendezvous, and what the hell that word means? How to pronounce every syllables in that word, etc. Simple as that.

Yeah, that's what we did in another site with forums like this, the word of the day thing. Yet, it seemed that users in there were bogged out by those things so we stopped posting such things. It's as if the "word of the day" act is so boring. :D

So, I expect you not to reply again just like what others did. Much to my dissapointment. I thought this thread will be useful but I was wrong. Certainly wrong.

TIBUGOL, it doesn't matter. Just post whatever you like. As long as it follows the rules of this site. If you have talent in poetry, you can share it here. If you have any questions regarding english, you can ask here. This thread is about being practical. :D

thinkster03, glad to see that. So, how's PHC going? Are you still active just like before? 24/7 in PHC? XD

Datamasterxda, you can understand us if you persist. Persevere, dear data. :) You must be eager to learn english if you want to be fluent with it.

kazumi08 vocabulary first before grammar. Did you read the post on the first page? Just enrich your vocabulary first and then learn everything about the grammar if you still want to. :)

Guys, you can make this thread more productive if you just let go of your fear of being judged. Everything and everyone is welcome here. Any topic is a great start to have a conversation with everyone. I hope you'll be more bold next time. It's time for a change. :)

I thought you were all gone. :)
Wow! It's nice to see you again, and being one of our support team I know you deserved it. :) May I know of what is your role in PHC?

John, why change your username into futility? I wonder why. Hmm
