Constipation
NIDDK describes constipation as “a condition in which you have fewer than three bowel movements a week, or hard, dry and small bowel movements that are painful or difficult to pass.” It can last for weeks or months, with feelings of fullness and discomfort. While usually not dangerous, any change in bowel habits can signal cancer.

Diarrhea
According to the NIDDK, people with diarrhea pass loose stools three or more times a day, and it may be accompanied by stomach cramps. Diarrhea may be the result of eating something to which you are sensitive, or it can come from a viral infection.

Diarrhea causes you to lose fluid, as well as important salts and minerals, in the stools and can lead to dehydration.

Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
Doctors are not sure what causes this condition, also commonly called acid reflux. Possible triggers include acid in your esophagus, a hiatal hernia, *******cy or obesity. People who smoke may also experience acid reflux.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome
This is a problem of the large intestine, and sufferers can experience constipation, diarrhea and abdominal pain. It affects more men than women. Like acid reflux, no one knows the exact cause. Making lifestyle changes in diet, stress management and using probiotics can help relieve this condition.
