Food and Recipe Ginataang Paksiw na Dulong

    1/2 kilo silver fish
    2 thumb size ginger (thinly sliced)
    3 cloves garlich (crushed)
    1/2 onion (thinly sliced)
    1 long green chili or anaheim pepper
    2/3 cup vinegar
    1/2 cup water
    1/2 tsp whole black pepper
    3 tbsp coconut milk
    Salt or fish sauce (patis) to taste


    Heat cooking pot. Pour vinegar, water & whole black pepper. Let it simmer for 3 minutes on medium heat.

    Add all the ingredients except for coconut milk. Stir and bring it to a boil. Once boiling, lower the heat.. cover & let it simmer for 10 minutes.

    Add coconut milk according to taste. I used 3 tablespoon only because I don't want to overwhelm the taste of paksiw with gata. Adjust the taste with salt or fish sauce to your preference. Cover & let it simmer for another 2 minutes.

    Turn off the heat and serve with lots of rice.
