Guys hate it when their girlfriends discuss their personal issues with others, especially on social networks. It goes from being a counselling session to mere gossip and soon everyone starts giving him the looks because of some random fight he had with his girl. Fights are common in every relationship, and everyone has at least one confidant who they sometimes go to for help or advice, but they never spread their fights and issues in public.
When they jokingly flirt with other men
Jokes are good but they can sometimes hurt. Romance plays a huge role in every relationship and if it lacks in one relationship, it should also lack outside of the relationship. A guy would just say that his girlfriend is “cool”, that she’s casual and herself around other men, but that does hurt them a little inside because of the “possessive” element. It’s the way they talk to other men, guys notice it but quietly get hurt by it because they don’t want to sound like they’re narrow minded but they’re actually just possessive because they love you, they want you to be that way with them and them alone.
When they don’t acknowledge their efforts
My ex used to ignore most of what I did for her, the tiny details meant nothing to her and all she cared about was the major chunk of it all, that used to hurt me a lot. Guys hate it when their efforts are left unnoticed and aren’t acknowledged. It is sort of impossible to get a guy who’s emotional and sentimental and knows how to show it, and it hurts more than anything to feel under-appreciated.
When they constantly try changing them
It annoys guys a lot when their girlfriends try changing them, even if it is bit by bit. If it’s healthy change, that’s okay. My girlfriend wanted me to quit *******, so I did, because it wasn’t good for me to smoke. That’s a positive change. A negative change is when they want you to think through a different perspective or be a different person or have a different lifestyle. It also hurts when they aren’t supportive of your dreams and visions and they want to constantly criticise everything.
When they’re super clingy
Guys hate it when their girlfriends don’t give them enough personal space, everyone needs room to breathe on their own safe haven and don’t want someone constantly watching their every move. Personal space is very important for every relationship because it keeps people sane, you may love them more than anything in the world but you still want to remember who you are at the end of the day, we all need our private time where no one else is allowed.
When they keep texting during “US” time
“US” time is supposed to be sacred, no one else is supposed to be involved when the two of you are spending quality time together, guys hate it when their girlfriends can’t let go of their smartphones during the time they spend together. He wants your attention, all of it, he doesn’t want you to update your Facebook status or put a check-in or put up a new picture on Snapchat of the two of you, he just wants your complete undivided attention.
When they have too many guy friends
I’m going to say this very clearly, this is very natural, it goes both ways too. It’s annoying for girls when their boyfriends have too many girl friends, the same way it annoys guys when their girlfriends have too many guy friends. People who think this is “narrow-minded” are either too scared to admit it or aren’t in a real relationship, it just naturally hurts and sometimes a lot more than usual, this isn’t about trust.
When they question their life goals
My ex used to question my life goals all the time, day in and day out, because she just wanted me to live life according to her and my way sounded weird to her. I chose to do it my way and I’m pretty successful today and I still remember how she used to mock me, it was super annoying.
