In my younger days, well, actually i am young still, i remember that there was a time that i participated in a Easter Bunny contest but sadly i didn't win in that contest. Some of it were hunting eggs, though, i didnt join in that event. Well, i never asked question way back who was Bunny and why do rabbits and eggs in that celebration.

Easter Bunny actually a rabbit spirit. Way back in the old era, Easter Bunny was called Easter Hare. In that age, hares and rabbits have multiple births. Then it became the symbol of Fertility. The tradition in the egg hunting in the Easter Sunday began. According to Christians, these eggs are considered the SEED of LIFE and it symbolizes the RESURRECTION of JESUS CHRIST.

In the ancient times, these eggs were dyed and colored to make it more beautiful decorations. Some part of Europe at the medieval time, they decorated the eggs as a gifts.

Conclusion:

Now, if you are wondering where it came from, this is because of Rabbit is a symbol of fertility and eggs symbolize seed of life and resurrection of Jesus Christ. And lastly, Easter came from the word, Eastre the goddess of Anglo-Saxon.
