Check out the random speed tests conducted by NTC
Remember the random speed tests that the National Telecommunications Commission is conducting to test the speeds of internet providers all over the PH? They just did another big one recently and guess what – their tests reveal that not a single ISP hit the 100% of the speeds that they’ve advertised. Take a look:

The tests were conducted from February 15 to March 10 and revealed that Bayan Tel was the worst offender, only delivering on average 59.17% percent of the speeds that they advertised. On the opposite side of the spectrum Globe delivered 82.44 percent of their advertised speeds. PLDT delivered 74.73%, while Sky Broadband delivered 63.60%. The tests were conducted on a variety of internet plans offered by the telcos, from regular DSL to Fiber.

As far as sanctions are concerned, the NTC isn’t leveling any penalties on the ISPs as of yet, saying that the tests are not conclusive. The ISPs still have a chance to redeem themselves, as the NTC says that there will be more tests to follow on April.
