Is there any other brand more envied than Ferrari? The Italian automaker is known for making opulent sports cars that are fast and powerful. Their 2015 LaFerrari is no different. Design wise, it is kept the basic Ferrari features. It has aerodynamic curves and shape we all love. Underneath the hood, Ferrari packs a 788 horsepower, 6.2 liter V12 engine and an electric motor that produces additional 147 horsepower. In total, the LaFerrari has 949 horsepower. All that power can get you from 0 to over 124 MPH in less than 7 seconds. With a maximum speed of over 217 MPH, LaFerrari is a monster on the road. Unfortunately, the price of this exotic car is around $1.35 million. In addition, only 499 models are being made, making it an incredibly rare.
2. KOENIGSEGG AGERA R
While the name may not sound familiar to some, this Swedish car is made with power in mind. The specifications of this beast are intimidating. It has 1140 horsepower, capable of reaching the speed of 273 MPH. It will be the fastest car in the world. Those lucky enough to own this beauty will have to spend $1.5 million, but it’ll be worth the investment. When it comes to design, the unique shape and color scheme is reminiscent of race cars. It has an aerodynamic shape and carbon fiber wheels to increase its speed and agility. It runs on E85 biofuel. This implementation of green technology is a step in the right direction. 3. LAMBORGHINI VENENO
When you think of luxury sports cars, Lamborghini models often come to mind. However, this masterpiece looks like nothing you’ve ever seen before. The design looks like something your favorite comic book character would be driving. It has unique design elements that will make your jaw drop. Everything from the rugged scale designs on the back to the giant spoiler and unique exhaust system make it new and fresh. Furthermore, the car is made from lightweight carbon fiber. 4. PORSCHE 918 SPYDER
When most people think of hybrids, they think of sedans or compact cars. However, Porsche has created a mid-engine hybrid sports car. Owners can save the planet while still getting the speed and power they would expect from the iconic automaker. It has 608 horsepower with a 4.6 liter V8 engine. It also has additional electric motors that add horsepower, giving it 887 horsepower in total. It has the recognizable design that Porsche is known for. 5. JAGUAR F-TYPE COUPE
This sports car is a bit more affordable. Unlike most sports coupes, this one is designed to give drivers complete control through tight turns and curves. In fact, the coupe has a sport driving mode that does wonders for lively driving. When in this mode, the car has firmed suspension, enhanced throttling, and sharpened steering. It has a max speed of 181 MPH, taking only 5 seconds to reach 60 MPH. The body of the Jaguar is curvy and aerodynamic. For an added flair and increased control, the spoiler is deployable. This car got a lot of attention at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, and for good reason. McLaren is known for taking Formula One technology and fitting it into road cars. Anyone who has seen a James Bond movie knows the iconic Aston Martin line. In 2015, this carmaker is releasing a new coupe with a 4.7 liter V8 engine that provides 430 horsepower. It can reach 60 MPH in just over 4 seconds. The power is delivered by a 6 speed manual transmission. While this isn’t the first of Aston Martin’s Vantage line, this rendition has more power and better handling. As usual, Aston Martin didn’t skimp on the design. The exterior features a sleek design with a pop of dramatic color on the trim. It’s something that can’t be missed on the road. 8. ALFA ROMEO 4C SPIDER
Expected to start production in early 2015, this suave car is slated to make a big splash in the United States. While they have had success here in the past, this car is the mark of a new era as they reenter the American market. It sports a turbocharged 1.7 liter four cylinder engine. It has a maximum speed of 155 MPH, taking only 4.5 seconds to reach 60 MPH. This makes it a strong contender against other luxury vehicles in the same price range. From a design standpoint, it is as streamlined and stylish as you’d expect from an Italian carmaker. The front end in particular has a unique appearance. This car is a bit different from others on the list, as it has room for multiple passengers. That being said, this Bentley was designed for the driver. It can reach speeds over 200 MPH, making any road trip a fun one. The 6.0 liter twin-turbocharged engine has 626 horsepower, giving drivers a lot of power behind the wheel wherever they may go. This list would not be complete without a Bugatti. Veyron 16.4 Super Sport can cost you anywhere between $2 and $4 million. It is the most extreme road car on the planet.
