Gamers who are starting to miss "Flappy Bird" can still get their fix from a very unlikely source:

That's right. Sesame Workshop has come up with a browser-based game that could match the original surprise hit game's difficulty.

"Flappy Bird" fans suffering from withdrawal symptoms can log on to the game's site and tap or click away.

In the game, a bird carries Sesame Street's Bert through Sesame Street – clear an obstacle and Bert giggles. But hit it or have Bert fall to the ground and he calls for Ernie.

The game even has several aspects of the original down pat, including the 8-bit look. And it works for both desktop computers and mobile devices.

A report on tech site Mashable described the game as a "genius Flappy Bird spinoff."

Several gamers were deprived of the original "Flappy Bird" game after its developer pulled it out of app stores.

"The adorable spinoff is just one of a growing list of games that seek to imitate the original Flappy Bird, the popular mobile game that was pulled from the App Store and Google Play store on Sunday,"Mashable said.

"Given the choice between Flappy Bert and Flappy Bird, we'd rather fly over Sesame Street any day," it added.
