  1. THE University of Saint La Salle (USLS) in Bacolod will open a senior high school to cater to all private and public school Grade 10 completer next year, its school head said.

Doctor Mario Loredo said they have named it as Liceo De La Salle Senior High School, after a school in Europe, offering two additional years as preparation for tertiary education.

Loredo said the school will start accepting admission and enrollment in August and will offer academic tracks, sports, arts and design tracks that are already aligned to the courses that the students should take in college.

Accountancy, business and management, science, technology, engineering and mathematics, humanities, social science are some of the academic strands that will be offered by the new institute.

He added that since there will be no freshmen students next school year due to K to 12 program full implementation in June, “it is the university’s program and measure to provide work among its affected college teachers.”

The school administration emphasized that Liceo De La Salle Senior High School is within the USLS campus and will only utilize available rooms in the college department.

“We are very K-12 ready,” Loredo said.
