How to Force Shutdown or Force Soft Reset or Force Reboot or Force Restart ASUS ZENFONE 5 ?

What should we do when ASUS ZENFONE 5 freeze or stuck or hang in the middle of playing games or run application? We should have to force soft reset or force restart this phone. Since ASUS ZENFONE 5 battery is non removable, then we can not force soft reset by open the battery. But do not worry, because we still can force reboot ASUS ZENFONE 5 by press and hold about 10-15 seconds the POWER button until the phone turn off by itself. The other alternative to soft reset or reboot when the phone LCD still work and response with our finger touch, then press and hold POWER button less then 3 seconds then the pop-up menu will appear for Restart / Reboot ASUS ZENFONE 5. This process of soft reset will not remove any important data.

Option 1, Hard Reset ASUS ZENFONE 5 with Software Menu Make sure the battery is charge properlyTurn on ASUS ZENFONE 5 smartphone

Don’t forget to backup all important data

Go to menu: Setting > Backup & reset > Factory Data Reset > Reset Phone Choose Erase everything to continue and confirm you ready to do the format ASUS ZENFONE 5

The ASUS ZENFONE 5 will continue the step until ready to use in clean factory default.
#Option 2,
Hard Reset ASUS ZENFONE 5 with Hardware Key Button

Make sure the battery fully charge

Do not forget to backup all important data

Turn off the ASUS ZENFONE 5Press and Hold together:

Power Button + Volume Up Button for several seconds until text menu appear, then release both button

At this text menu, choose Recovery and continue with press Power Button to confirm or OK

Wait until the LCD of ASUS ZENFONE 5 will show the Android Logo, continue press together

Volume Up + Volume Down together then we will see Android System Recovery ModeFollow the menu at LCD screen to continue

Factory Reset the hard reset ASUS ZENFONE 5,

use Volume Up or Volume Down to navigate the Menu and press Power Button to OK or Enter

meron na akong inayos na ganitong kaso need mo idowngrade yan tru adb command..

Paano po mag upload ng video para ma see niyo yung ng yari sa zenny ko. Bigla po kc mag pause/play pause/play. Kahit diko diko e touch yung screen din bigla din ma open ang messege ko ma copy lahat. Di naman ito nahulog..

Dipa pala to solved. ito gawin mo.

1. Download ka ng firmware You do not have permission to view the full content of this post. Log in or register now. . base sa version mo CN/CHT/WW , advise ko yung 2.22.40.54 firmware (skip kong meron kana)
2. Install ADB and drivers for Zenfone You do not have permission to view the full content of this post. Log in or register now.
3. Copy mo ung nadownload mong firmware (zipped) sa "C:\adb" folder.
4. Extract mo ung "recovery.img" na nasa loob ng mismong firmware na nadownload mo. Extract mo din sa "C:\adb" folder.
5. Connect Zenfone to PC. Enable USB Debugging (Settings>Developer Options)
6. Open Cmd sa "C:\adb" folder (hold SHIFT key + right click, select Open command window here).
7. Test if Device is connected and drivers are installed. type "adb devices" sa cmd.
8. Pag walang issue dapat naka display sa cmd yung serial ng device mo.
9. Next, type "adb reboot bootloader" (magboboot yung Z5 mo sa DROIDBOOT).
10. Then type "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img". Pag no issue dapat nakadisplay sa Z5 and cmd , "operation completed"
11. Tapos nyan using volume keys navigate to "recovery" option sa DROIDBOOT (sa Z5). Power button to confirm.
12. Dapat pag nagboot Z5 mo may makikita kang android icon na may red triangle (okay lang yan).
13. Hold volume down + volume up. Dapat makikita mo na recovery options nyan.
14. Tapos nyan using volume keys navigate to "apply update from ADB". Power button to confirm.
15. type "adb devices" sa cmd, dapat result nyan serial + sideload.
16. type "adb sideload NAME NG FIRMWARE.zip" example "adb sideload UL-ASUS_T00F-WW-2.22.40.54-user.zip"
17. Antay ka lang hanggang mag 100% ung progress sa cmd
18. Once done factory reset mo sa recovery ni Z5
19. Reset/format cache partition,sa recovery parin ni Z5 toh.
20. Reboot. tapos!

Pag wala parin sabihin mo anu issue/error try natin resolve yan.

1st need mong iflash ang exact boot img at recovery img version nito sir bago mag flash ng system kundi magfafailed yan

Ask ko lang pano po kea gagawn dun ayaw na magopwn ng phone zenfone 5 tpos kapag nihahard reset nalabas lang yung logo ng android na parng may dvd tape sa gitna

Sir, pareho lng bah yung asus-t00j at asus-t00f kasi yyumgna download ko t00f pero yung sakin eh t00j wala kasi ako ma hanap na t00j..salamat po..
