How To Factory Reset Samsung Galaxy S 4


So, you are a proud owner of the Galaxy S 4. After exploring your phone too much, filled it with lots of bloatware, the phone slowed down or whatever the reason you might want to know How To Factory Reset Samsung Galaxy S 4. But first let me clarify something.

There are two options available to reset the galaxy 4 and these two type of resets clear different parts of the phone storage. So, you better know the difference between a normal galaxy s 4 reset and a hard galaxy s 4 reset.
Wipe cache partition : This reset will not delete any personal data saved on your phone. Wipe cache partition means wiping the most commonly files from the cache stored by system.These files won’t be deleted from your phone in general so it’s SAFE to wipe the cache partition in order to a fresh start of your phone. So how to do it?
  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time:
    • Volume Up key
    • Home key
    • Power key
  3. When the phone vibrates, let go of the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and theHome key.
  4. When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.
  5. Press the Volume Down key to highlight ‘wipe cache partition.’
  6. Press the Power key to select. The phone will automatically restart after the cache is wiped.
Master reset : A master reset to your Galaxy S 4 will restores the original factory settings and may delete everything you saved on the device including your personal data on the internal storage, such as downloaded content, ringtones, images, apps, and contacts. So make sure to backup your data first before you even learn how to factory reset samsung Galaxy S IV.
There is two way you can Factory Reset Samsung Galaxy S 4 via setting menu or with hardware keys. If your phone is unresponsive or frozen use the hardware key method.
Master reset from settings menu

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap the Accounts tab.
  4. Tap Backup and reset.
  5. If desired, tap Automatic restore to clear the check box.
  6. If desired, tap Back up my data to clear the check box.
  7. Tap Factory data reset.
  8. Tap Reset device.
  9. If you have screen lock turned on, enter your PIN or password. Tap Continue.
  10. Tap Delete all.
Master reset with hardware keys

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time:
    • Volume Up key
    • Home key
    • Power key.
  3. When the phone vibrates, release the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and theHome key.
  4. When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.
  5. Press the Volume down key to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset.’
  6. Press Power button to select.
  7. Press the Volume down key to highlight ‘delete all user data.’
  8. Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
    When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  9. Press the Power key to turn the restart the device.
